Our Rockwell Collins' Flight Deck Panels Hardware team is looking for an electrical engineer with digital and analog experience to join our team. The Flight Deck Panels Hardware team is responsible for technical oversight of control panel and compact interactive display hardware for the company's Commercial Systems business unit. This includes design, development, qualification, certification, production transition, and product support activities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Analyzing product drawings and circuit card schematics for intended/implemented function.
Root Cause Analysis of Customer Returned Goods.
Optimization for production efficiency.
Collaborating with manufacturing test engineers to develop production test software and hardware improvements.
Coordination with internal and external testing services to assist with root cause analysis.
Perform limited project engineering tasks such as providing project status to leadership and recommending product-line improvement priorities to the product-line manager.
Coordination with application engineers and suppliers to determine root-cause and corrective actions of component failures.
Updating electrical designs for parts obsolescence and new technology insertion.
Reverse engineering of basic to complex electrical designs.
Drafting of service bulletins to communicate design updates for fielded product.
This position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 7:30 am to 4:30 pm workday, or beyond a 40 hour work week.
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline
Relevant analog and digital design experience.
Capability of hands-on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment.
Experience or training in all aspects of the hardware life cycle, including requirements capture, design and development, requirements verification qualification, and certification.
Utilization of strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Be able to multi-task and manage through unexpected events.
Ability to be a strong technical writer.
Experience providing direction to small cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of DO-160 Environmental Qualification standards.
An understanding of DO-254 design assurance guidance for airborne electronic hardware.
