Job Summary

Do you enjoy working with innovative solutions and advanced technologies? As we embark on a variety of development programs, our Rotary Wing Platform Systems department will work directly with helicopter operators to provide superior integrated cockpit solutions.

This position is for an entry-level Systems Engineer in the Rotary Wing Platform Systems department responsible for development of aircraft system requirements, design, and test for the CH-53K helicopter platform. The platform systems engineering team is the primary interface with the customer and is responsible for allocating requirements to the various subsystems (Displays, Flight Management, Communications, etc.) for development, then assembling the software components and testing the overall system.

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will perform platform systems engineering tasks under supervision of more senior engineers. Responsibilities include:

  • Capturing and analyzing customer requirements and breaking them down into clear avionics system and subsystem requirements.

  • Performing avionics system design requiring coordination across multiple subsystem functional areas.

  • Supporting requirements-based testing, including procedure development and execution in an avionics lab environment.

  • Operating in an Agile environment and working to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues using a defined change management process.

  • Collaborating with engineers across multiple subsystems (Displays, Flight Management, Communications, Mission, etc.) and contribute toward a positive working environment.

The selected candidate should be a self-starter, with the ability to multi-task and manage unplanned events and work well in a team environment to achieve results that exceed expectations. The candidate must be well-organized and able to communicate effectively with engineering peers, leadership, and customers using both verbal and written communication skills. Excellent problem solving, decision making, and teamwork skills are a must. Some travel may be required.

Basic Qualifications


  • A STEM degree by the end of the Spring 2018 semester is required.

  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
