Job Summary

As a Configuration Analyst you will be responsible for supporting change management and configuration management on Surface Transportation and Critical Infrastructure system and software projects.

Job Responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting software and documentation configuration management functions.

  • Participating on project teams.

  • Assisting with meeting schedule deadlines.

  • Following engineering process and guidelines.

  • Support for Technical Review Boards

  • Maintenance of the software development library

  • Software build management to ensure controlled builds are completed for testing

  • Release management to ensure that all successfully tested software is captured in the software development library, baselined and released with all accompanying documentation

  • Execution of configuration management plans

  • Configuration audits

  • Support services as needed, such as scheduling meetings, taking minutes, generating CM reports, assisting with onboarding personnel

  • Administration of ALM tools and Configuration Management tool

  • Administration of SharePoint for department projects

  • Data Management

Basic Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience

  • Software Configuration Management

  • Configuration management and configuration control processes

  • Structured change management processes and procedures

  • Facilitating Change Control Board and/or Technical Review Board

  • Software Build Management

  • Release Management

  • Configuration Audits

  • Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems

  • Adherence to IEEE software quality assurance and configuration management standards

  • Knowledge and experience with Configuration Management tools

  • Knowledge and experience with ISO-9001 and CMMI standards.

The candidate must demonstrate:

  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and quickly adapt to schedule demands.

  • The ability to learn and adapt to new technologies along with attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and writing skills.

  • The ability to work as part of a dynamic and skilled team.

  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Understanding of software development methodology

Desired Experience:

  • Experience using Borland StarTeam, JIRA, GIT or other source control or CM tools

  • Experience with requirements traceability and requirements management tools

  • Experience performing software testing

  • Experience developing user documentation and conducting training

  • Experience with Windows and/or Unix server administration

  • Experience with Virtual Machines
