As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including an Engineering Manager in our Lighting & Integrated Systems business located in Bohemia, NY.


Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Engineering Manager will be responsible to lead, manage and provide technical direction to product development engineering teams including multiple sub-teams and/or significant contracted external engineering resources. Leads the technical effort, defines engineering plans and ensures program objectives and contractual requirement or customer expectation are met.


  • Manage a diverse range of engineering disciplines supporting multiple projects, programs and business units.

  • Assess project feasibility, analyze resource needs and delegate tasks as required.

  • Coordinate and direct projects to accomplish goals.

  • Focus on managerial concerns of the project such as cost, completion, and resource allocation; provide expert resolution of issues and monitor integration of work.

  • Review technical concepts of major projects.

  • Participate in solving particularly difficult technical problems.

  • Collaborate with supported business units.

  • Attract, recruit, evaluate and develop a world-class engineering organization.

  • Overall direction, coordination and evaluation of group. Supervising exempt and non-exempt associates.

  • Selection, evaluation and development of staff.

  • Planning, assigning and directing work flow.

  • Addressing performance issues in timely fashion.

  • Providing daily leadership to staff.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and 8 years related experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in leadership role (with direct reports)

  • Must be an actively engaged supervisor involved in day-to-day engineering activities and schedules with the ability to manage multiple, rapidly evolving engineering projects.

  • Must have excellent organizational skills.

  • Strong decision making and execution skills are required.

  • Must be able to assimilate constant input from various engineering managers, directors and above and prioritize projects and competing demands.

  • Must have an ability to travel 15% of the time both domestically and internationally.
