This position will work within a full service EMI/EMC test qualification lab performing pre-production qualification testing on avionics equipment.
Required to follow detailed test procedures as directed, but also be able to work with limited direction when necessary to setup and perform environmental qualification tests (e.g. EMI, Climatics, and Dynamics) in accordance with applicable industry standards. Must be able to efficiently analyze, interpret, and record this test data. Must be proficient in the use of environmental test equipment, including digital oscilloscopes, network analyzers, programmable power supplies, RF amplifiers, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers. Must be proficient in the use of MS Office products and possess effective written and verbal communication skills to accurately observe and record test progression and organize and document test data for each assigned project. Must maintain an in-depth knowledge of test standards, product test procedures, and instrumentation. Will be required to interact with customers during the testing process and periodically assist with troubleshooting and equipment modifications.
Must have the technical knowledge to understand and operate sophisticated test equipment and overall calibration of testing systems for set up, alignment, testing and troubleshooting of all types of complex electrical components, equipment, and systems. Performs a variety of electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical tests on electrical systems, sub-assemblies, and parts to insure unit functions according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure. Maintains related paper work as required. Must know application of products.
Makes adjustments in the values and settings of components on units being tested in order to properly align and tune diverse types of electrical circuits, utilizing limited or no written test procedures. May be required to perform RF tuning, tack test selects, lift axial leads, remove simple solder shorts, clip leads, touch up post coat, and reassemble and seal the unit (only when no repair actions are taken by the technician).
Conducts a variety of functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of components in equipment or systems.
Employs a comprehensive knowledge of electronic and/or environmental test theory to check out and follow highly involved and often unproven test techniques, to competently interpret and evaluate test results, and to write test reports. Technical knowledge necessary to deal with engineer designed, and redesigned circuits, components, and devices is required. May be required to make formal reports.
Sets up and operates calibration equipment to perform calibration, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on vibration, shock, centrifuge, and/or climate chamber equipment. Required to check out and follow testing requirements of specific test instruments which will produce maintenance and calibration data, and assists in the preparation of test set-ups. Required to interpret and evaluate compiled test data. Maintains related paper work as required.
Required to perform the operation/programming of Environmental chambers and instructs other test personnel in the operation of such chambers.
May be required to check installation and operation of systems and equipment, provide technical advice to customer personnel with respect to use of instrumentation, exchange factual background data and give technical explanation of system characteristics and operation.
Recommends means of correcting malfunctions (i.e., those attributed to faulty design, test methods, procedures, and workmanship). May be required to do some liaison work with other technical areas of the Company. Requires a high degree of independent judgment and skill.

This position requires US Citizenship.
Requires DoD security clearance (must be US Citizen).
Must meet the established essential visual and color perception requirements to perform this job.
Must complete and pass all required pre-hire assessments (three tests total).
High school diploma or equivalent required.
