Rockwell Collins’ Platform Hardware team is looking for an electrical engineer with digital and mixed signal printed circuit board design or troubleshooting experience. The Platform Hardware team is responsible for the design of electronic avionics systems used for data concentration and advanced IO processing.
Primary responsibility is to support existing DCS/IPS/DCU Fusion products as well as some legacy products. This would include the following activities:
Troubleshooting customer or factory product issues to root cause.
Assessing problems that come up either in the manufacturing process or in the field and providing technical direction and presenting information to peers and internal management.
Assessing component obsolescence situations and providing technical direction for redesign or transition to a new component.
Advanced circuit card assembly troubleshooting.
Collaborate with engineering labs to complete DO-160 and DO-254 tests, interpret results, and debug.
Collaborate with engineering technicians to run functional tests on complex systems.
Responsible for engineering documentation.
Responsible for preparing TSO package submittals.
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline, preferably Electrical/Electronics Engineering
Must have recent, hands-on printed circuit board assembly design or troubleshooting experience. (2-5 years of experience preferred)
Ability to quickly assimilate complex schematics and pinpoint problems on systems and circuit card assemblies.
Experience with avionics DO-160 and DO-254 standards (preference).
Experience debugging printed circuit board layout issues (preference)
Must have experience with and feel very comfortable in a lab environment performing hands on troubleshooting complex equipment with basic engineering tools (e.g. Oscilloscopes, DMM, etc).
Experience with performing rudimentary schematic capture with tools such as Mentor Graphics DxDesigner. (Preference)
Must be able to multitask and effectively manage time well.
Ability effectively communicate in written format.
Must exhibit strong drive to take ownership of tasks and complete them on time - self-motivated.
Highly attentive to details and quality of work output
Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills
