Job Summary

The Test Engineering & Services Center of Excellence is seeking to fill an Electrical Engineering position with a talented and highly motivated individual who possesses a BSEE or BSECE degree. The primary responsibility for this position is to evaluate and provide feedback for new circuit card designs from a Design For Test (DFT) aspect. This DFT role is critical to ensure Collins board designs can be tested accurately with adequate test coverage. Other responsibilities for this position will be to develop and sustain manufacturing and services test equipment solutions for Collins products and programs. This position will directly report to a Level 5 Sr. Engineering Manager in the Test Engineering Center of Excellence.

The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, be able to multi-task across multiple assigned projects, communicate with cross-functional team members, demonstrate problem solving skills, critical thinking and prudent decision making skills to do the right thing, for the right reason. The candidate must be a self-directed individual requiring little to no supervision in accomplishment of assignments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in peer reviews for board designs, work with design team on test requirements, and evaluate board design for DFT principles

  • Use software tools to evaluate board designs to measure test access and provide feedback for:

  • In-Circuit Test (ICT)

  • Boundary Scan

  • Board programming

  • Cable Scan

  • Functional Test

  • Provide feedback to the design team if board design violates DFT rules or if there are improvement suggestions.

  • Coordinate several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules

  • Review product designs and create test solutions that maximize test coverage in the manufacturing and service environments

  • Participate in the test solution development, build, integration, release, and deployment processes

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Highly motivated and possess effective oral/written communication and interpersonal/team skills

  • Excellent time management skills and good organization needed in order to meet commitments

  • Dependability - Demonstrates the ability to follow through with work assignments without constant supervision

  • Good understanding of the hardware development process and the associated company processes.

  • Hardware skills: ability read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings is required

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a digital focus, but some analog is desired.

  • Factory support experience is a plus

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

US Citizenship is required. Candidate must have the ability to obtain a US DoD Security clearance

Candidate must have the desire to evaluate Design for Test (DFT) principles for circuit card designs

Desired: Manufacturing experience, experience with circuit card layout, test development environment experience
