Job Summary

Senior Electrical Engineer -- Electrical Design Engineer

Rockwell Collins Airborne & Weapons Navigation Hardware Engineering team is in a growing business area and in need of a qualified experienced RF design engineer to support the development of state of the art navigation products for the Government marketplace. The candidate shall have a well-rounded background that has demonstrated significant experience in RF design. This is an individual contributor role in which the engineer is part of a cohesive team of engineers responsible for developing key subsystems for the Airborne and Weapons Navigation product lines.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be involved in the entire design process including requirements capture, design and layout, integration, verification, transition to manufacturing, collateral support and customer interface. The applicant should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, as close integration with other team members including hardware, software, systems, test and operations as necessary.

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM

  • Ability to obtain U.S. D.o.D Security Clearance --U.S. Citizenship required

  • Abilitly to work out of Cedar Rapids, IA location.

  • Eexperience in the design or integration of GPS products

  • Eperience in the design or integration of L-band circuits

  • PCB layout experience with RF designs

  • Electromagnetic Interference test and troubleshooting experience

  • Strong desire to make our customers successful

  • Designing and evaluating RF architectures, sub-systems, boards, and components, including RF switches, limiters, up-converters, down-converters, attenuators, LNAs, mixers, filters, etc.

  • Proficient with RF simulation and modeling tools

  • Work with suppliers of RF components to specify, test, and develop RF solutions

  • Develop test plans and procedures for verification of RF designs

  • Apply hands-on in-depth knowledge of RF test equipment including signal generators, vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and oscilloscopes

  • Strong leadership attributes with good oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to multitask small and large projects

  • Desire to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
