Job Summary

This position is for a systems engineering co-op on the Fixed Wing Systems team within the Government Systems organization. In this role, you will help the platform systems engineering team perform tasks associated with the design, development, and integration of various system and subsystem components for use on fixed wing aircraft and/or avionics platforms.

Co-ops are required to take a semester off of school to gain full-time work experience, therefore this position is an extension/addition to the student's education and career. Co-ops progress into higher labor grades and receive greater responsibility and exposure when they return for each new work session.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide complementary technical support to the the platform systems engineering team, including development of system requirements, design documentation, and tests.

  • Modify, develop, debug, and run system verification and validation tests using both simulations and specialized test equipment in simulated and/or lab environments.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of internal processes, methods and tools for systems development and documentation efforts.

  • Demonstrate domain knowledge in one or more products and/or functional areas.

  • Job responsibilities may vary based on current program needs.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence (Green Card) is required.

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline. Degrees: Aerospace Engineering or other fields.

  • Must take a semester off of school to gain full-time work experience.

  • Must begin the co-op session no earlier than the beginning of their sophomore year.

  • Must excel working in a team environment and establishing collaborative relationships with coworkers.

  • Desirable to have aviation-related experience, team leadership experience, and/or knowledge of current systems engineering tools (DOORS, etc.).

  • Desirable to have excellent technical writing and public speaking skills.
