The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a good, solid understanding of the Airport software systems and ISO9001 standards; Providing technical assistance for sites with ARINC airport systems throughout EMEA that are already established or being deployed as required; Acting as the technical interface to the airline communities including representing the company at regular customer meetings; Being able to provide 3rd Level (on-call engineering) support for existing operational airport systems in the EMEA region; Assisting with integration and certification of new airline or host applications will also be an expectation of the role.
Will be primarily responsible for: -
o Technical support of ARINC products and Third Party products hosted in the Slough Data Centre and deployed to sites across EMEA.
o Prepare prior to and support during certifications for all airline customers within the ARINC cert lab.
o Assessment and execution of broadly defined technical tasks that require the use of independence, judgement and creativity.
o Work to maintain highest system availability.
o Respond to operational demands in a proactive manner.
o Document ARINC updates and changes within the ARINC change control procedures
o Follow up actions after any network outages to ensure system is setup as robustly as possible.
o On Call Third level support of ARINC Airport products either on-site or remotely.
o BS/BA degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
o Possesses excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
o Adaptable to work in an ever changing and demanding operational environment
o Working knowledge of VMware
o Working experience of systems installation and support with LAN/WAN implementation and troubleshooting, including CISCO and Wireless gained in a systems installation, configuration and software upgrade environment.
o Excellent customer oriented attitude, maintaining and enhancing good customer relationships
o Excellent organizational, communication(written and verbal) and administrative skills
o Excellent interpersonal skills always maintaining a professional disposition
o Ability to work autonomously without Management direction when required
o Ability to manage high degree of multi-tasking
o Ability to work well in a team environment
o Strong sense of initiative and dedication to resolving problems
o Proven experience in an airport/airline operational/technical environment
o An understanding of IATA Specifications
o An understanding of bespoke Airport Technologies and Protocols
o An understanding of SQL database products would be helpful
o Microsoft MCSE
