As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Senior Buyer in our Lavatories business located in Everett, WA.
The strategic supply chain team is a dynamic group of high energy people who take charge and solve problems. The best candidate for this role will be someone who is a self-starter, and committed to developing strong relationships both internally and externally with a global team of buyers and suppliers. This Senior Buyer will be able to work in an extremely fast paced and changing environment to come up with creative approaches to complex challenges both independently and effectively. Comfort with a high stress environment and balancing several projects at once is essential to success.
Guided by established policy and with minimal supervision, carries out broad assignments usually involving the purchase or planning of important and critical items.
Responsible for sourcing and driving cost activities for $20-$30M per year in direct purchased parts
Solicits bids and quotations; analyzes, evaluates, and negotiates bids to determine optimum value; selects suppliers, issues purchase orders, follows up, and expedites as necessary
Identifies, investigates and qualifies suppliers in coordination with supplier quality
Manages engineering change in collaboration with quality, engineering, program management, suppliers, and others to determine impact of change and take necessary actions including new sourcing activities or make/buy decisions
Negotiates long term purchase agreements with key suppliers including raw material and CPI escalation clauses as required
Review technical documents and act as supply chain advocate during engineering design reviews
Provides guidance and mentoring to lower-level Buyers as appropriate
Performs other related duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university and eight years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working knowledge of Excel, including use of formulas and pivot tables
Experience working with Aerospace quality requirements, and regulations (AS9100, etc.)
Experience reviewing and understanding basics of technical documents (drawings/prints, specifications, etc.) as required for purchasing
