As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Quality Technician at our Fenwick, West Virginia facility.
Works on the most difficult and elusive quality problems, often in collaboration with an engineer. Requires extensive training and experience in quality control work with a track record of resourceful troubleshooting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Read and interprets complicated blueprints and specifications, including customer and vendor specifications.
Perform product/process audits.
Identify causes of rejects and follow-through for corrective action.
Set-up instruments (mechanically or electrically) for inspection.
Use mechanical and electrical measuring tools such as CMM and Optical Comparators.
Perform critical first-piece inspections.
Prepare original fixtures or methods for cost-effective minimization of defects.
Make outside field trips to approve vendor material or operations or check finished product.
Determine unstated or hidden dimensions from a blueprint, working with fractions, decimals, and trigonometry.
Calibrate measuring instruments using standards; administers the calibration activities.
Administer the raw material testing and verification program.
Perform other related duties as required.
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and at least 2 years related experience and/or training.
