As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Set Up Machinist- Team Leader in our Brazonics Inc business located in Hampton, NH.
Under minimal supervision working with Machine Shop Supervisor or designee, operates sets up, and determines tooling required to produce piece parts, and first piece prototypes and final assemblies. Inspects parts for accuracy per blueprint specifications and records data. Creates tooling and fixtures when required. Responsible for his/her Production Area including Scheduling, Machining, Inspecting and Deburring all parts, fixtures and assemblies.
Oversees, monitors, and coordinates production team activities, giving importance to individual member's and overall team's achievement of established goals. Works as part of the production team with responsibilities matching those of the team.
Responsible for all members of the team: assigns individuals to specific job tasks; ensures team has resources to complete tasks; communicates policies and procedures; motivates team to perform at high levels; maintains a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with procedures and safety regulations.
Ensures team receives proper training and skill improvement.
Works as a part of the production team by performing quality control checks, moving product into and out of the work area, and assisting the team with the preparation of product for shipment.
Ensures quality standards are met.
Keeps supervisor apprised of team work status; perceives problems/issues as they develop and communicates such to supervisor.
Prepares documents, production sheets and/or other reports and related paperwork as required.
May provide input to supervisor with regard to performance of individual team members.
Performs other related duties as required.
Receives blueprint specifications and written instructions, determines tooling, sets-up, and operates machines according to instructions and specifications to produce piece parts, and first piece prototypes and final assemblies. Makes required adjustments to program ie: speeds and feeds, to facilitate production. Maintains Setup sheets, Check sheets, and ensures Rev status is correct utilizing Epicor.
Must review Machine Work Queues daily in Epicor to ensure customer on time delivery is achieved. Report any discrepancies to Machine Shop Supervisor.
Operates equipment to produce parts and assemblies as assigned ensuring parts comply with specifications. Stops process if necessary to prevent failures, and reports to Shop Supervisor of job status as required.
Inspects parts produced to ensure compliance with specifications indicated on blueprint or other instructions and records data, includes visual and measurement inspection using a variety of inspection instruments, and may include product testing, and verification from Engineering.
Creates tooling and fixtures as required to accommodate department and other manufacturing operations including CNC, Brazing, and testing areas. Properly maintains those fixtures using Shop Database and Storage procedures.
Maintains machines and equipment used including cleaning equipment, replenishing machine coolant supply, and monitoring machine to detect preventative or other maintenance that may be required.
Performs other assembly and finishing work as assigned within the department or in other departments as workload determines, includes deburring, and hardware. Performs rework on parts as required.
Maintains a clean and safe work area and adheres to all safety and environmental regulations and requirements.
Reviews and maintain all programs related to your Machine and in NC Base through CIMCO.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong communication skills, and must be able to work independently in addition as part of a team.
Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Completion of CNC Machine Operating technical school program.
Well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.
Experience in aerospace
Strong G code knowledge a must.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office and EPICOR.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
