We are currently seeking a Senior Contract Manager to join our team at our Irvine, CA location to negotiate and manage customer contracts further developing our business relationships. This position interacts with elements of Commercial and Government Systems, including Program Management, Engineering, Finance, and Operations and is therefore an excellent position for those who want to be an integral part of a team that is directly responsible for major program execution. Opportunities to interact with both Rockwell Collins upper management and the customer are an additional benefit.
Review contractual terms and conditions for their acceptability, as well as assessing risk and impact to the proposal utilizing the company resources including legal, operations, and pricing, as necessary. Provide alternate terms and conditions to Customers
Reviews incoming customer requests for proposals, identifies proposal requirements, reviews terms and conditions for acceptability and compliance with company policies and procedures, assists in proposal development as required and participates in securing required management approval for submittal of proposals to customers
Operates in accordance with company policies and practices, and in compliance with accepted business ethics
Conducts contract negotiation and management of major contracts
Responsible for negotiating, structuring, and/or administrating contractual documents that establish business relationships with customers and/or partners. Works with sales, finance and service teams as well as the legal department to structure contracts
Analyzes contracts to ensure compliance to company policy, government specifications and other requirements as necessary
Provides contract status and assistance to the program manager, functional areas, and management
Takes proper action to close out the contract in accordance with applicable procedures at the conclusion of all activity
Assures the timely communication of contract information to appropriate persons and maintains complete and accurate contract files
Acts as principal interface with internal/external customers on contractual matters. Takes necessary action or coordinates action to resolve any contractual problems with the contract execution team in a timely manner
Normally receives little instruction on day to day work, general instructions on new assignments. Participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion.
- Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline or, in the absence of a degree, a minimum of six years of related experience
Additional preferred skills and/or qualifications
Business Management Degree, Finance Degree, or JD
Experience in Export Compliance and Supply Chain Management
Working knowledge of FARs/DFARs and other procurement related regulations
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy, an effective communicator, possess good interpersonal and presentation skills and be able to work in a fast-paced team environment
