Rockwell Collins Commercial Officer in Leighton Buzzard, United Kingdom
B/E Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rockwell Collins Inc., is a leading manufacturer of aircraft interior products and we currently have some exciting positions based at our Leighton Buzzard facility, including a Commercial Officer.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Commercial Officer will be responsible for management of customer and supplier contracts and implementation of related changes for the A350XWB Galley Program.
Key responsibilities include –
Manage and control the implementation of customer and internally generated change within the program
Be subject matter expert on all contract and related change documents and issues.
Manage all aspects of contract changes including impact analysis, creation of contractual, commercial business case, customer negotiation, administration and subsequent implementation.
Be responsible for minimizing Gross margin impact of contractual changes.
To effectively manage the customer contracts for the A350 Galley Program
To manage the company’s strategy and commercial approach to channge requests
To be a focal point for all customer and supplier contract change requests
Identify and initiate change requests with customer or suppliers or as requested by members of the Team
Identify and assess all costs, schedule and other commercial and technical impacts related to change requests.
Generate the financial and business case for all contract related changes.
Obtaining required information from engineering, certification, program management, procurement and other stakeholders etc to manage change requests.
Present, negotiate and document the changes to the contract with the customer and internally
Minimise the Gross Margin impact of any changes using the contract as a tool for agreeing the impact of changes
Ensure all changes are reflected within contracts with suppliers and customer.
To respond to all change requests within 30 days.
Manage the internal change process including the internal change board
Control and monitor the effective implementation of change through engineering, manufacturing and other internal processes.
Prioritization of tasks to meet deadlines and able to provide relevant management information.
Setting expectations and agreeing response time with internal teams to meet customer expectations
The successful candidate will have the following –
Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a Business or Finance related subject
Experience of working with complex technical and engineering issues and leading technical teams.
Experience of working with and leading multi-disciplinary teams
Strong problem solving skills
Ability and experience in working on ambiguous problems or problems with limited definition and able to structure a consolidated and detailed solution.
Program management, including change management
Working with commercial contracts, on a long term project / program basis
Must be familiar with handling large value contracts
Working within an Integrated Program Team to develop technical impacts
Identification of financial impact from the technical solutions
Business case modelling
Must be familiar with INCOTERMS
Must be capable of handling commercial negotiations with Customers and Suppliers
Must have excellent inter personal skills, and be able to operate in a matrix management structure
Must be able to form effective partnerships with Customers/Suppliers
Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite,, Microsoft Project, JDE)
Flexible and able to work to changing deadlines
Ability to manage multiple, unrelated and simultaneous tasks
Ability to work autonomously and able to set priorities of own work and the work of internal stakeholders
Ability to influence and manage internal stakeholders in order to receive right first time inputs in a timely manner
Ability to manage and coordinate cross functional departments
Understanding of engineering, procurement and commercial dependencies
Ability to plan and manage priorities such to ensure timely receipt of inputs and responses.
