Our Lenexa facility specializes the production of Oxygen Life Support Systems and Galley Inserts Beverage Maker Products. Our Oxygen and Beverage Maker small parts assembly manufacturing, focuses on safety and quality products production into the field for aircraft crew and passengers.

As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Purchasing Manager in our Oxygen and PSU business in Lenexa, KS, in the Greater Kansas City Area.


The Purchasing Manager manages and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in daily management of tactical supply chain activities to meet or exceed the expectations of internal and external customers.


  • Manages all processes related to the external procurement of raw materials, parts, supplies, and services required at minimum cost, consistent with delivery requirements and quality specifications.

  • Manages procurement activities of Buyers.

  • Establishes procedures to accomplish procurement of a variety of materials in a cost effective manner.

  • Coordinates procurement activities with user representatives to develop procurement programs and plans.

  • Monitors performance and capabilities of vendors to insure maintenance of delivery, quality, and price commitments.

  • Continually assesses market conditions which may affect procurements.

  • Supervises the negotiation of blanket orders covering procurement of major commodities.

  • Performs other related duties as required.


  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience managing a procurement function; or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work and life experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in purchasing in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with MRP / ERP systems.

  • Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) structure.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and identify material call-outs.

  • Proven ability to track complex metrics and develop recommendations.


  • Experience in Aerospace or Defense procurement.

  • Lean expertise

  • Experience in low volume/high mix environment

  • Experience in the implementation of strategic initiatives utilizing project management skills.

  • Experience with global supply management

  • Experience working with Design Engineers at concept-level to make recommendations related to vendor selection activities.

  • Experience working with NDAs, LTAs, and purchasing agreements.

  • Understanding of and participation in the AS9102 Quality Requirements.

  • Demonstrated program launch experience.

  • Demonstrated strategic cost-out project experience.

  • Proven negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple vendors to deliver positive value to the organization.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Experience in stocking agreements for inventory management.


  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders including Senior Leadership.
