Our Lenexa facility specializes in the production of Oxygen Life Support Systems and Galley Inserts Beverage Maker Products. Our Oxygen and Beverage Maker small parts assembly manufacturing focuses on safety and quality products production into the field for aircraft crew and passengers.

As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Reliability Engineering Manager in our Beverage Maker Products business located in Lenexa, Kansas. 

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Research and Development, the Engineering Manager is responsible to work across multiple functions in the organization to drive product reliability and safety performance. This role will be an integral member of the engineering management team and provide management oversight for the reliability engineering group. Responsibilities will include the creation of plans and projects focused on reliability and safety enhancement, as well as supporting project and program work managed by others.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate the development, evaluation, and execution of plans and criteria with the aim of enhancing product reliability and safety.

  • Ability to engage and execute projects within a cross functional development team while proactively assessing the feasibility and soundness of proposed solutions

  • Determine when analysis or testing is advisable to aid in decision making associated with design concepts and/or changes.

  • Ability to develop product assurance plans that are comprehensive and utilize accepted industry standards with the aim of driving optimal product reliability and safety in the field.

  • Create standard work to ensure all safety and reliability activities are conducted in accordance with B/E quality processes and procedures.

  • Develop and approve appropriate safety and reliability program plans and associated results based on customer and contractual obligations for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Perform or delegate different analysis types (FMEA, FMECA, DOE, HALT, HASS, ESS, ALT, &FTA) to facilitate the design, verification, validation, and certification processes

  • Focus on managerial concerns related to budgets, project completion dates, resource allocation, staff management, and employee performance reviews.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or in Applied/Physical Sciences (i.e. physics, mathematics, statistics, etc.) from a 4 year University.

  • Eight (8) years related experience in engineering and reliability.

  • Ability to travel 15%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Supervisory experience

  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE)

  • Familiarity with RTCA DO-160 testing

  • Experience with Aerospace regulatory requirements

  • Experience implementing a design for reliability program

  • Understanding of MIL Standard 217
