Our Lenexa facility designs and manufactures Oxygen Life Support System products for commercial, military and private business jet aircrafts providing high quality, innovative solutions to enhance aircraft passengers and crew safety and comfort. As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Technical Writer in our Oxygen & PSU Systems business located in Lenexa, KS.


Reporting to the Global Product Support Manager, the Technical Writer will coordinate, develop, write, and edit material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publication.


  • Organizes tasks and material and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.

  • Acquires and organizes basic source material, including applicable specifications, engineering write‑ups, and drawing packages.

  • Observes production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail.

  • Coordinates writing tasks based on schedule and resource availability

  • Helps coordinate the layout and manual organization.

  • Arranges for typing, duplication, and distribution of material.

  • Maintains records and files of work and revisions.

  • Interviews production and engineering personnel and reads journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods.

  • Reviews manufacturer's and trade catalogs, drawings and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service of equipment.

  • Reports status of progress and completion of goals.

  • Performs other related duties as required.


  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; or minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proficient with Microscoft Office.

  • Proficient with PTC Arbortext

  • Proficient with Adobe FrameMaker


  • Working knowledge of ATA.

  • Working knowledge of S1000D Technical Writing Specifications Standards.
