Job Summary

Performs a variety of duties necessary to construct electrical assemblies, modules, and circuit boards within a team environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Under minimal supervision, performs a variety of complex electronic tasks following Rockwell Collins workmanship standards. May be asked to fill in for more senior members of the work area as needed. May work a variety of assembly stations. May coordinate or set up activities as necessary to supply area with parts, supplies, tools, equipment.

  • Following/reading blueprints, wiring schematics, written work instructions and verbal instructions assembles electronic subassemblies, top assemblies and complete multiple assemblies. May train other production employees on workmanship and processes.

  • Required to use hand tools and power tools to assemble and rework a variety of parts/assemblies and perform required assembly/rework operations to meet quality standards. Soldering may be required for some positions. May be required to perform minor equipment repairs/troubleshooting, minor tool program troubleshooting and Minor PM tasks.

  • Inspects own work and may inspect the work of electronic Assembler 1on mechanical assemblies to insure a quality product which conforms to workmanship standards and engineering requirements. Monitors assembly processes to ensure quality in assigned area(s). Conducts root causes analysis and corrective action processes to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Required to enter time in FIT timekeeping system, charging time to programs being worked and time/attendance.

  • Regular and reliable attendance is required as well as flexibility to support production schedule requiring working overtime hours and alternate shift hours.

  • Work in a safe manner, per Rockwell Collins Environmental Health and Safety policies.

  • Responsible for various SAP transactions to record operations. May also be utilizing various computing systems in managing work area inventory, demand and output.

  • Understands and demonstrates Lean principals/practices. Applies Lean electronic principals and tools to accomplish tasks.

  • Responsible for inventory and schedule of production output, service parts and engineering development products.

  • Demonstrates personal accountability for success of assigned area(s) and show personal leadership in facilitating the team achieving their goals.

  • May be required to train lower level electronic Assemblers in assemble techniques.

  • May be required to perform additional duties/responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resdiency

  • SAP Experience

  • CI experience or CQSI preferred

  • test repair experience preferred
