Performs a variety of duties necessary to construct mechanical assemblies within a team environment.
Performs a variety of complex mechanical assembly tasks following Rockwell Collins workmanship standards.
Read mechanical drawings and complete desired assemblies
Work with complex electro-mechanical assemblies; may require the ability to work with torque wrenches or torque tools and/or measurement equipment.
Following/reading engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and written work instructions to complete subassemblies and top-level assemblies.
Required to use various tools to assemble and rework a variety of parts/assemblies and perform required assembly operations to meet quality standards.
Inspects own work performed to insure a quality product which conforms to workmanship standards and engineering requirements.
Adhere to policies and procedures in the manufacturing process
Work in a safe manner, per Rockwell Collins Environmental Health and Safety policies.
Required to enter time in FIT timekeeping system, charging time to programs being worked and time/attendance.
Flexibility to support production schedule including overtime hours and alternate shift hours.
May be required to perform additional duties/responsibilities.
Quality - able to achieve and maintain Certified Quality Self Inspection (CQSI), possibly on multiple processes, and can/does mentor other team members with quality issues
Performance - consistently exceeds productivity expectations, is extensively cross-trained on multiple assemblies, able to be a cell or plant floater
Attendance - is a role model for regular and reliable attendance
Communication/Teaming - is an active team member who promotes teamwork, can mentor other employees and may take a leadership role on the team
High School Diploma or Equivalent
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency
Experience with complex electro-mechanical assemblies
Experience with torque wrenches and torque tools
Experience with leadscrew drive assemblies
Experience with gantry's or overhead cranes
General Machine Shop knowledge
Familiarity with mechanical drawings and assemblies
