Job Summary

Seeking a highly motivated System engineer to join the GNSS team which has recently developed the Multi-Frequency/Multi-Constellation global navigation satellite system (MF/MC GNSS) which is part Rockwell Collins’ Next-Generation Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR) and be part of the company’s commitment to furthering advanced global navigation capabilities.

Candidates are expected to be able to an active member of a cross-functional team during all phases of an engineering system development project. Responsibilities include systems level requirements definition, design, and integration as well as Systems and Software verification. This position will also offer the opportunity to work closely with our domestic and international partners and customers in the development of the system.

Job Responsibilities

  • System level requirements decomposition/analysis, system design and allocation to subsystems/products, system integration planning and execution, and system level verification and validation.

  • Interfacing with system, subsystem, and product teams in the allocation of system level requirements, decomposition into lower level requirements and design decisions, and resolution of problem reports, working with other disciplines such as Hardware and Software

  • Exhibiting strong team skills working with both internal and external teams

  • Effective time management and ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

  • Strong oral and written skills as this position involves working with a diverse team of experienced professionals, customers, and vendors

  • Thrives in a highly demanding and fast paced work environment.

  • Developing verification and validation tests

  • Developing support scripts and utilities and GNSS scenarios

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience in ARP-4754A

  • Candidate must be self-motivated, possess effective oral/written communication and interpersonal/team skills, and be able to multiplex tasks and assignments effectively

  • Analytical skills - able to demonstrate logical, critical thinking in analyzing engineering problems with resultant solutions.

  • Familiar with DO-178 development and verification process

Additional skills desired:

  • Large scale avionics integration or complex avionics product integration

  • FAA certification and safety process, TSO and Type Certification

  • DO-178B/C, and industry software development practices

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl and/or Python
