Rockwell Collins Material Process Engineer in Shanghai, China

As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Material Process Engineer to support our growing supply chain organization in China.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Supplier Source Engineer will perform general tasks, troubleshoot and resolve issues under allocated work priorities and daily assignments. The Supplier Source Engineer will also lead and/or participates in supplier process developing, cost analysis & negotiation, engineer Query/ECN/PDR issues within supply base, and supplier engineering liaison activities for procurement team.
To work with UK based Supply Chain, resolving engineering issues, cost analysis & improvement where and when they exist.
Working closely within the tactical and strategic project manager to determine where areas of focus need to be.
Working closely with the suppliers to review/solve engineering query /PDR/issues, and improve related communication between supplier and sites.
Cost control of project total life, including unit price, nor recurring cost, engineer change cost, etc.
Working with and advising the strategic team on supplier selection process.
Working with engineering and the supplier to ensure all technical specifications are understood and adhered to.
Provide design engineer recommendation on manufacturability and cost
Liaison engineer work supporting RFQ bidding process and FAI stage
Cost Analysis and price negotiation
Support/Lead project VAVE and cost continuous improvement
Complete qualifications of existing suppliers to support B/E sites production requirements.
Any other reasonable duties as required.
Drive/liaison engineer activities/issues in LCC sourcing
Supplier capability evaluation & developing
Design phase manufacturing/process advise
Cost analysis to support business strategy
Cost management of site project
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university with a degree in Engineering or related area.
Minimum 5 – years’ experience related to Aerospace manufacturing (machining, sheet metal) or similar environment.
Know-how of manufacturing process focus on
A good basic knowledge of MRP/ERP Systems and reports, proven track record of achievement in a relevant position.
A good understanding of lean manufacturing tools.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Proficient communication of English and Chinese (Mandarin) language.
CIPS Post Graduate Diploma (or Equivalent).
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience working in Aerospace would be beneficial.
Second language advantageous.
Enthusiasm and “will to win”.
Flexible and willing to work as a team.
Experience use of JD Edwards world or Enterprise one.
Excellent internal and external communication and negotiation skills.
This role reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager, China.
Travel requirement – Some domestic or international travel may be required.
