This position functions as a consultant to challenge teams to enhance the performance of their processes. This person will provide advice associated with APQP elements throughout the New Product Introduction development phases. Primary responsibilities for this position include executing, mentoring, training and facilitating APQP during New Product Introductions.
Requires knowledge of and ability to apply continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma and APQP.
Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups. Serves as prime consultant and external spokesperson for the organization on matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities, and goals and objectives.
Relationships are intra- and inter-organizational. The ability to communicate with all levels of leadership and employees, peers, customers, suppliers, academicians, external entities on a global basis is key.
Acts as a catalyst for performance improvement projects and process change.
Assesses progress and establishes cadence reporting on performance goals.
Understands complex systems process analysis, design and simulation in order to drive teams to understand, define, and resolve problems.
Viewed as an expert in field within the organization. Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of others in the execution of APQP.
Analyze, coordinate, schedule and facilitate all aspects of Value Stream Mapping and Analysis. Use the VSM's to identify opportunities and manage, coach and mentor others to create additional Value Stream Maps and conduct Lean events as needed.
Advises on team design and performance. Provides development, coaching and training of managers on leadership skills.
Provides expertise on process improvement, organizational redesign, change management projects, and performance measures.
Highly Desired Experience
Experience using statistical modeling software (Minitab, Monte Carlo simulation, Crystal Ball, etc)
Candidate must have a passion for continuous improvement and achieving excellence
STEM Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline
Black Belt Certification
US Citizenship or Permanent Residence is required.
Candidate must be able to share examples of APQP experiences which they have led
Prior experience with leading events related to implementation of Lean tools (such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work, Kanban systems, etc.)
Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Word, MS Project
