Rockwell Collins Financial Analyst in Winston Salem, North Carolina

As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Senior Financial Analyst in our Interior Products and Services business located in Winston-Salem, NC.
Reporting to the Segment Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis, the Financial Analyst is responsible for maintenance of financial planning and reporting systems, preparation and analysis of financial and management reports for executive management, and compilation and review of segment planning and monthly forecasting process. He/she will also act as key member of the FP&A community.
Assume responsibilities pertaining to the monthly close and financial forecasting processes.
Assist in maintaining and developing segment and site level monthly analytics to help drive accurate reporting of both financial and non-financial data.
Review balance sheet reconciliations submitted by IPS businesses; use knowledge of GAAP and audit processes to ensure balances are adequately supported; drive continuous improvement through feedback.
Assist with various accounting tasks and support internal/external audit requirements.
Assist in the analysis of program profitability and contract accounting governance and ensure compliance with GAAP.
Participate in financial reviews with IPS businesses with senior management.
Review P&L flux explanations submitted by IPS businesses; ensure quality of explanations through questions and feedback.
Assume system administration responsibilities for Hyperion EPM suite; Provide general support, guidance and training to users around the Hyperion EPM suite and other reporting systems.
Prepare ad hoc reports and analytics, as required, to meet business needs.
Perform other duties as required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and Two (2) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education
Knowledge of GAAP and audit processes
General knowledge of database, accounting/finance computer systems
Experience working with business forecasting
Manufacturing experience is highly preferred
Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret and critically appraise financial results/forecasts quickly
Experience working with financial models
Detail oriented with ability to perform accurate, high volume data maintenance
Good organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact with all levels of management/staff on sensitive issues
Ability to work independently and use judgment to prioritize requests
