As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Product Support Engineering Manager in our Seating Products business located in Winston-Salem, NC.

SUMMARY:

The Product Support Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the Product Support team in development of projects, systems or processes as part of the engineering program.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the product support engineering function over a range of products or processes.

  • Focuses on managerial concerns of the project such as cost, completion date, and resource allocation.

  • Provides expert resolution on issues and monitors integration of work.

  • Personally participates in solving difficult technical problems and reviews technical concepts of projects.

  • Participates in lean manufacturing activities to stream line the process and generate standard work.

  • Interacts with customers to ensure project objectives are achieved and addresses customers’ technical concerns and requirements including any technical reporting and inquiries.

  • Escalates program challenges to leaders as appropriate.

  • Responsible for recruitment, performance reviews, and training needs of direct reports.

  • Provides regular status reports to the customers by agreed time as well as leadership teams.

  • Assists in preparations of proposals, including review of specifications, terms and conditions, equipment selection and overall cost structure.

  • Conducts and participates in daily WIP Board meetings with teams as required.

  • Interfaces regularly with internal stakeholders (supply chain, operations, account managers, customer service) and external stakeholders (customers, suppliers, regulatory authorities) across multiple locations and cross functional relationships.

  • Identifies process creation and/or improvement opportunities and strives for continuous improvement in the role and function.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Two years of supervisory experience

  • Five years design engineering experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five years of experience in a highly regulated industry, especially aerospace.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a manufacturing and engineering environment

  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams of engineers and handle complex projects

  • Well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities

  • Desire to identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead projects to make improvements to processes, procedures, etc. through Kaizen/Lean Manufacturing.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 20% time.

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access.
