Our Global Supply Chain team collaborates with our suppliers to ensure we strategically source the materials and services at the optimal price, quality and time to support our business.
As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Commodity Manager in our Supply Chain function located in Winston-Salem, NC.
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain (Non-Production), the Commodity Manager will develop, oversee and implement global, regional and local commodity strategies for various non-production commodities.
Establish historical spend baseline by working collaboratively with other departments including finance in order to extract data from various sources, and/or gathering individual data points to create a master data set.
Determine market conditions, initiative objectives, and gather requirements.
Strategize optimal sourcing process based on savings levers and required timeline.
Screen, identify and select qualified potential suppliers based upon capability, quality control, and cost competitiveness.
Conduct and manage entire bid process for complex projects.
Negotiate pricing and other commercial terms with qualified suppliers.
Assess, manage and mitigate any corporate risk associated with complex sourcing initiatives.
Make business case recommendations for award decision(s) based on quantitative and qualitative evaluation factors.
Creates, negotiates, implements, and manages long-term complex purchase agreements with critical suppliers covering all applicable B/E Aerospace sites.
Implement sourcing solutions, performs contract management and supplier reviews, and updates appropriate stakeholders.
Coordinates with and develops relationships with appropriate stakeholders to ensure project success.
Maintains and disseminates knowledge and awareness of industry issues, trends and developments for assigned commodity area.
Provides guidance and training to lower-level buyers and other associates.
Performs other related duties as required.
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
Extensive sourcing experience with various non-production (indirect) commodities
Experience with data mining and compilation
Strong business acumen and knowledge of a formal strategic sourcing process.
Experience with supply chain tools such as Ariba, Ivalua, and PowerSteering.
Strong understanding of supplier contracting concepts.
Experience working in large organizations with a geographically dispersed workforce.
Well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.
Desire to identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead projects to make improvements to processes, procedures, etc.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders including Senior Leadership.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships, credibility, influence, and interactions with suppliers, customers, and key stakeholders.
